Editorial Policy

This page explains how WealthGuides decides what to publish, how we handle advertising and affiliate relationships, and how corrections work. Last updated August 2026.

Editorial independence

Editorial decisions — which topics to cover, how comparisons are structured, and what an article says about a fund's or broker's drawbacks — are made independently of any advertising or affiliate relationship. No advertiser or partner reviews or approves article content before publication.

How we handle advertising and affiliate links

WealthGuides is supported by display advertising (Google AdSense) and, on a limited number of pages, disclosed affiliate links to brokers or financial tools. Where an affiliate relationship exists on a page, it is disclosed in plain language near the top of the article, not only in a footer link. Affiliate relationships do not affect fund selection, ranking order in comparison tables, or the tone of coverage.

Corrections process

If a factual error is identified — through reader feedback, routine review, or our quarterly data-refresh cycle — it is corrected as soon as it's verified. Material corrections (a change to a number, a claim, or a recommendation) are logged in a visible "Corrections & Updates" note at the bottom of the affected article, dated. Minor edits (typos, formatting) are not logged individually.

What we don't do

Content review cadence

All published articles are reviewed against current data at minimum once per quarter. Articles referencing time-sensitive figures (IRS contribution limits, current fund fees) are flagged for priority review each January, when many federal limits change.

For detail on how research and fact-checking are actually performed, see our methodology.
